So, this is intended for a child’s lunch for school but since I make Sam sandwiches for lunch more often than not, this DIY Reusable Sandwich Wrap tutorial from small & friendly would be handy! And it looks like an easy enough project for someone who is a rookie at sewing! Like, super rookie.

I’m thinking that a Bakery/Doughnut shop Roundup might be due soon.

The doughnut world has sure changed a lot from when I was a kid, and this doughnut/ice cream combo from Sweet Dozen in Sacramento looks like I need some right now!

And while I’m talking about the sweet stuff, might as well share this amazing funfetti cake recipe from My Name is Yeh

I love funfetti cake, but I don’t like box recipes so I think I’ll have to give this a shot the next time someone’s birthday requires a cake!

Friday Finds

Friday FindsEven though the temperatures are high and the sun still hurts when I walk outside, it’s feeling more and more like Fall. There are pumpkin recipes coming out of the woodworks (not that I mind, of course) and I’ve seen so many back-to-school crafts and projects, that I almost feel like I have a kid going back to school. I even caught myself almost pinning a couple. So, it’s no surprise that my food find for the week has my most favorite ingredient in it.

Charge Up e-book by Allie from The Wonderjam and Claire from Claire Deane Marketing

I learned of these ladies through a Design*Sponge post, and needed to find out more. The book is not out yet, but it looks like it’s going to be a good one. It’s a guide to running your business and networking from an introvert’s perspective. Since I have my own troubles with networking and marketing, I’ll definitely get this book when it comes out!

DIY Honey Cinnamon Nutmeg Face Mask from Liz Marie Blog

Right now, my skincare routine consists of washing my face with a bar of Irish Spring soap and then using Aveeno hand lotion as a moisturizer. I need something new, but even if I wanted to, I couldn’t shell out the big bucks for natural skincare products. So, I was happy to find this DIY on the 15 Cinnamon Beauty Uses list from Henry Happened.

This Drink Radio Design Contest from Capital Public Radio looks like so much fun!

I am super new to graphic design, but it would still be fun to give it a shot

The Living Situation: Cecilia’s Room Inspiration

Patience has never been one of my strong points. So it’s no surprise that from the moment I found out we were buying a house, I’ve been on the hunt for a theme and colors for Cecilia’s room. Since we moved so soon after she was born, I have never really had a chance to decorate her room.

Once we get our house, Cecilia will no longer have to offer me office space in her room and it will be all hers. So I want to make it all about her, because that’s kind of how it goes around here. And since she spends a lot of time playing in there –  and I spend a lot of time cleaning in there – I want it to be fun.

I’ve decided on a vintage carnival theme and at the moment, this is the color palette. Since we have a coupon for Benjamin Moore paints, most of this is from their collection. We roll thrifty, yo.

Cecilias Room PaletteThe print is from Yatana Co Photography, but their Etsy shop is no longer available.

I will continue to share inspiration for our living situation each week on Tuesdays, including decor ideas, flea market finds, color palettes and more. If you have any ideas to share or have felt inspired from what I’ve posted, please let me know!
